Turkey: Ten Iraqi Nationals Facing Trial on Charges of Ties with IS

ERBIL - Turkish authorities on Monday began the trial of ten Iraqi and four Syrian nationals on charges of alleged ties with the Islamic State (IS).

The trial was held in a court in Samsun province, north of Turkey, a few days after the country's security forces announced anti-terror operations in various areas.

Anadolu Agency said in a statement that the 14 suspects had been arrested in Samsun province.

Earlier on Friday, Turkish security sources said that the anti-terror teams of the State Security Directorate carried out simultaneous raids in a number of places, as part of investigations related to the Islamic State jihadist group.
