ERBIL - During the ninth cabinet, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has issued at least 100 major project licenses, Prime Minister Masrour Barzani stated on Thursday.
"During this cabinet, the Board of Investment has also issued new business licenses worth more than $2.56 billion," the Kurdish premier wrote on Twitter.
Barzani further pointed out that "these ventures are just the start of our ambitious program to unleash private sector growth."
In a separate Twitter statement, the prime minister stressed on his cabinet's efforts to diversify its economy which gives "every sector the chance to thrive."
"During this cabinet," Barzani said, "the Board of Investment has approved $12 billion worth of projects across industrial, housing, education, tourism, sports, trade, healthcare, and agriculture sectors."
