ERBIL - At least two Kurdish porters, also known as Kolbars, were injured by the Iranian border guards, a monitor said on Tuesday.
The Iranian border forces on Monday opened fire at a group of Kurdish Kolbars in the mountainous areas of Bane city where at least one porter was severely wounded, Hengaw Organization for Human Rights said.
He was identified as Abdullah Faraj Pana, who is likely to lose one of his legs, according to the monitor.
Elsewhere in Nowsud area on the same day, a similar incident was reported, with the Iranian guards leaving another Kolbar injured.
The identity of the second victim was not revealed to the media as he was said to have refused to visit any medical centers for treatment for fear that he would be arrested by the country's security forces.
