Kurdish Leaders Congratulate Biden, Harris after Inauguration

 

ERBIL - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday offered congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris after they were sworn in as the 46th President and Vice-President of the United States.

"On behalf of the Kurdistan Region, I would like to congratulate President @JoeBiden and Vice President @kamalaHarris on their historic inauguration," the Kurdish president wrote on Twitter. "I wish them success in leading the American people and look forward to working with our friends in the new administration."

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, in the meantime, sent his "warmest" congratulations to President Biden and Vice President Harris and said that he looked forward to working "closely" with them in efforts to further strengthen the relations between Erbil and Washington and "restore much-needed certainty to the region."

"Warmest congratulations to President @JoeBiden and Vice President @KamalaHarris. I look forward to working closely with you to strengthen the KRG-US partnership and restore much-needed certainty to the region."
