ERBIL - The death toll from the coronavirus across the Kurdistan Region has now spiked to 3,434, the health ministry said on Friday.

There were only three new fatalities related to the pandemic within the past 24 hours in the Kurdistan Region, the ministry explained in a statement.

During the same period, at least 78 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 and 965 patients were discharged from the hospital.

The Kurdistan Region, since early March, has recorded a total of 104,921 coronavirus cases, out of which 84,837 people have already recovered.
