No Infection with COVID-19 Variant in Kurdistan Yet: KRG

ERBIL — The Kurdistan Region assured its people that there have been no cases of the COVID-19 variant.

The statement comes hours after one individual was taken to a hospital in Duhok for suspected infection with the new mutant virus.

Hamza Raziki, director of Duhok department of health, told BasNews that the suspected case has tested positive for the ordinary COVID-19, and he is under treatment now.

The case was suspected of carrying the mutant virus after his arrival from the UK.
