ERBIL - Iraq's Ministry of Health said on Wednesday that nearly 2,000 coronavirus patients have been discharged from the hospital since yesterday.

While 867 people have tested positive for COVID-19, at least 1,992 new recoveries were registered on Wednesday, the ministry said in a statement.

The coronavirus also took the lives of four other individuals.

Iraq has so far seen a total of 605,416 COVID-19 cases since February, from which 562,575 patients have recovered and 12,915 others died.
