ERBIL - Turkey-backed Syrian militias have arrested 30 civilians in the Kurdish city of Ras al-Ain (Sare Kaniye), in Hasakah province, a monitor said on Tuesday.
The arrests have been made over the past 72 hours "in immoral ways," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights revealed, blaming the militia groups for violating the privacy of the locals.
"Meanwhile, Turkish-backed factions claim that the arrests affect only those accused of robbery, theft and kidnapping," the Britain-based monitoring group added.
Meanwhile, the Ankara-backed Syrian Islamist groups opened fire at a group of civilians in Sare Kaniye on December 27 and left at least four civilians severely injured, the monitor said.
