ERBIL — The presidency of Kurdistan Region parliament has postponed Wednesday’s session on Erbil and Baghdad’s financial disputes.
Secretary of parliament, Muna Qahwachi, said the legislature has officially asked the government of Kurdistan to send the representatives to respond to inquiries by the lawmakers.
For this, as she suggested, the government will need to prepare a delegation, which has resulted in the postponement of Wednesday’s session.
The financial disputes between Erbil and Baghdad has harshly affected the salaries of public servants in Kurdistan. Erbil accuses Baghdad of violating or unilaterally abandoning its own agreements with the KRG under the pressure of certain political factions.
