ERBIL - A couple of Iraqi civil activists on Wednesday managed to survive an assassination attempt in the capital Baghdad.
Unknown armed men opened fire at two Iraqi civil activists in Talibia area, east of Baghdad, leaving one of them wounded, Iraqi media reports said.
The two activists were identified as Omar Ta'ayi and Akram Azab, with the latter being taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Similar incidents have often been reported in various areas of Iraq, especially in the capital Baghdad.
It was not clear whether or not the attack was carried out by the militant group of the Islamic State (IS).
