Families Appeal Against PKK's Recruitment of Children: Official

ERBIL - A great number of families in the Syrian Kurdistan have appealed against the Kurdistan Workers' Party's (PKK) continuation of recruiting their children, an official revealed on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Co-chairs of the Child Protection Office in Qamishli, Midia Nasraddin and Hussein Ali, pointed out that they have so far received nearly 50 appeals from different families against the PKK's recruitment of underage children in the region.

The office has been able to return at least 10 children to their family members, according to the two officials.

Dr. Kirmanj Othman, a legal expert and senior political advisor, had previously told BasNews that the PKK violates the international laws by its continuation of recruitment of underage children.
