ERBIL - Turkish forces and Ankara-backed Syrian Islamist groups on Sunday bombarded several villages in the Kurdish-held areas, a monitor said.
The bombardments targeted the villages of al-Malikia, Maranaz, Shawargha, and Shawargha Castle in northern Aleppo province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights cited its sources.
According to the Britain-based monitoring group, the bombardments were "coinciding with sporadic clashes between the Kurdish forces and Turkish-backed factions on frontlines," with no casualties reported.
Earlier on Friday, the Turkish forces and Ankara-backed Syrian rebels shelled the Kurdish-controlled villages of Mar’anaz, Shawarghah, al-Malikyyah, and Aqlamiyyah in countryside of Aleppo, the monitor said.
