ERBIL — Kurdistan Region’s head of Department of Foreign Relations, Safin Dizayi, and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias held a phone conversation on Thursday to discuss bilateral ties.
Dendias reiterated his country' willingness to further strengthening ties with the Kurdistan Region, and hoped to pay a visit in the near future, DFR said.
The phone call came after Greece foreign minister’s scheduled visit to Erbil was canceled due to “technical issues”.
Dendias was planning to open his country’s consulate general in Erbil during his visit, which is expected to be opened in the near future.
“FM Dendias expressed his regret about postponing his visit to Kurdistan Region due to technical issues. I look forward to your visit in the near future and to nurturing our relations,” Dizayi wrote on Twitter.
