Landmine Kills, Wounds Seven Civilians on Syria-Turkey Border

ERBIL - A landmine explosion on Sunday resulted in the killing and wounding of seven civilians on the border areas between Syria and Turkey, a monitor reported.

The incident took place as the seven individuals were attempting to cross the Syrian border into Turkey from al-Malikia city in northeast of Syria, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

According to the monitor, at least three civilians were killed in the incident while four others were injured.

Earlier on October 7, Turkish border guards killed two young men "in an ambush when a group of seven civilians and a smuggler entered the Turkish territory from Abu Racine countryside in Hasakeh province," SOHR revealed.
