ERBIL — Kurdistan Region’s health ministry announced 793 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, saying the number of active cases has climbed to 17,962.
The ministry also confirmed 31 fatalities from the pandemic, bringing the overall death toll up to 1,937.
Out of 53,549 confirmed cases, 33,650 have so far recovered, the report added.
With over 19,700 registered cases, Erbil has suffered the most from the highly contagious disease, followed by Sulaymaniyah (17,270), Duhok (14,608), and Halabjah (4,625).
