ERBIL — Protesters once again stormed several offices belonging to political parties in the southern province of Dhi Qar, setting fire to some of them.
Media reports said different groups of protesters attacked the political representation offices in Nasiriyah on Tuesday night.
Al-Sumariyah News said massive damages were brought to the buildings; however, it did not reveal which political parties were attacked.
Anti-government protests across Iraq have been ongoing since October 2019, except during the recent measures against the spread of COVID-19.
The Nasiriyah protests came amid reports of violent clashes between security forces and a group of pilgrims in the Shia’s holy city of Karbala where the annual Arbaeen pilgrimage is taking place.
