ERBIL - The total number of people that so far died due to the new coronavirus in Iran has now passed 25,000, the country's health ministry said on Thursday.
The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 175 other people across Iran within the past day, taking the death toll to 25,015, Sima Lari, a spokesperson for the ministry.
In the meantime, at least 3,521 new infections of COVID-19 have been detected since yesterday.
Iran has so far seen a total of 436,319 coronavirus cases as well as 367,829 recoveries since the outbreak of the novel virus in the country.
