ERBIL — Kurdish prominent leader and the President of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, on Tuesday received EU Ambassador to Iraq Martin Huth in Erbil.
Barzani discussed with the EU ambassador the history of Kurdish people as well as their struggle for the freedom and democracy. In return, Huth reaffirmed the European Union's support to the Kurdistan Region, a statement by Barzani Headquarters said.
Concerning the relations between Erbil and Baghdad and efforts to resolve the remaining disputes, Barzani reminded that the people of Kurdistan Region "believe in peace and dialogue".
The pandemic, its implications on the economy, and global efforts to fight the novel virus were also discussed during the meeting.
