ERBIL - At least three Katyusha rockets on Sunday landed in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport, an official confirmed.
Speaking to BasNews on condition of anonymity, an official from the airport pointed out that US helicopters were flying over the area to monitor the situation.
The Iraqi security forces, in the meantime, imposed tight security measures to prevent further possible incidents.
Possible casualties or material damages are not known yet.
Inside the airport, there is also a US military base.
Iraq's Security Media Cell explained in a statement that the rockets were launched from Abu Ghraib town, some 40 kilometers west of capital Baghdad.
