Iraq Warns of Second Wave of COVID-19 Next Month

ERBIL - The Iraqi health ministry on Wednesday warned of the second wave of coronavirus for the next month.

The Director of Public Health at the Iraqi Health Ministry, Riyad Abdul Amir, said in a statement on Wednesday that despite an increase in the number of coronavirus infections, the number of daily recoveries is also on the rise.

However, he noted, the second wave would come when the first one starts to be weaker, warning of the second wave in October.

"Whenever there is an increase in the number of tests, there is also an increase in the number of infections," he concluded.
