ERBIL — Iranian border guards killed on Wednesday at least four Kurdish porters in two separate incidents on the border between the Iranian Kurdish areas and the Kurdistan Region.
The first shooting was reportedly outside Qalarasha village of Sardasht district, Western Azarbaijan province, northwest of Iran, according to Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
It left three porters dead, the monitoring group said.
Elsewhere in the vicinity of the border village of Zewa, near Piranshahr in the same province, another Kurdish porter was gunned down by the Iranian forces.
Hengaw had previously reported that at least 31 Kurdish porters were killed or injured in Iran during the month of August alone.
