ERBIL - The Turkish army claimed on Saturday that it had "neutralized" at least five members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the border areas of Kurdistan Region.
A statement by the country's defense ministry said that the five were "neutralized" in an air-based operation in Metina, as reported by Anadolu Agency.
Turkish authorities use the term "neutralize" to imply that the PKK fighters in question either surrendered, killed or captured.
