Cutting Water Flows by Iran Contrary to All International Laws: Iraq

ERBIL - Iraq's Ministry of Water Resources has expressed strong concerns over Iran's cutting water flows on both Sirwan and Little Zap, arguing that these actions are contrary to all international laws.

The ministry noted in a statement that the water in the two rivers has significantly reduced which indicates that Iran has completely cut the water flows, affecting several villages in the Kurdistan Region.

The Iraqi ministry further pointed out that people in Diyala and Kirkuk provinces have also been affected by the reduced water flow, calling on Iranian authorities to normalize the situation.
