ERBIL — US President Donald Trump said during a press conference on Friday that he will make deals with Iran and North Korea if he wins the second term in the upcoming presidential elections.
“If and when we win, we will make deals with Iran very quickly, we'll make deals with North Korea very quickly,” the US president said.
Tensions between Tehran and Washington escalated again after Trump ordered a unilateral withdrawal from the 2015’s Iran Nuclear Deal to reimpose economic sanctions on the Tehran government.
The tensions, however, brought the sides on the brink of a war after Washington killed Iran’s top general Qasem Soleimani in a drone strike near Baghdad Airport.
According to Trump, his administration has so far kept the US away from a real war with Iran or North Korea.
“Everybody said, 'Oh, Trump will get us at war'. No, just the opposite,” he said.
