ERBIL — At least two Kurdish porters were killed and five others were injured in separate shootings by the Iranian border guards, Hengaw Organization for Human Rights said.
On Thursday, 9th July, Iranian border guards opened fire at a group of Kurdish porters near Chalderan, in the border area of Mako, Western Azarbaijan province, killing at least one porter.
Chalderan is located on the Iranian Kurdistan border with the Kurdish areas of Turkey.
Hengaw identified the victim as Ziad Hatami, a father of two children.
Elsewhere in Piranshahr, bordering Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Iranian border guards shot another Kurdish porter identified as Ibrahim Abubakri.
According to Hengaw, five other Kurdish porters were injured on the same day in other border areas in the provinces of Kermanshah and Western Azarbaijan.
