ERBIL - Azerbaijan on Tuesday delivered a total of 25 tons of humanitarian assistance to Iraq to help the country in the fight against coronavirus.
Speaking to reporters, Ahmed al-Sahaf, a spokesperson for the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, pointed out that the aid consisted of prophylactic medical supplies.
"Iraq thanks Azerbaijan for the humanitarian aid sent by the latter during this crisis faced by the world," the spokesperson added.
Iraq is suffering from a dramatic increase in the number of coronavirus infections. It has so far seen a total of 49,109 cases with 1,943 deaths.
