Several More Kurdish Officials Dismissed in Kirkuk

ERBIL - The Iraqi government has reportedly ordered the dismissal of several other Kurdish officials in the disputed province of Kirkuk for unclarified reasons.

According to the information BasNews has obtained, the director of household gas distribution alongside a number of other workers at the office were removed on Monday while Turkmen and Arabs were appointed in their places.

Since October 2017, when the Iraqi army and pro-Iranian Hashd al-Shaabi overran the disputed Kurdish areas and forced the Peshmerga fighters to withdraw from the territories, at least 200 Kurdish officials have been dismissed by Baghdad, the majority of them were replaced by Turkmen or Arabs.
