ERBIL — The film “Yade” by Kurdish director Shirin Jihani will take part in a film festival in Israel.
Jihani’s films “Under Black” and “Orange Man Dreams” have already gained her a high position among the well known filmmakers by winning several prestigious awards across the world.
Similar to the theme of her previous works, Jihani’s new film is meant to fight violence and war through arts.
Yade is the story of girl who has lost her family in the war in Syria. Her adventure is to find hope for a safer world without war and bloodshed.
Meanwhile, Jihani’s pages on social media platforms came under serious cyber attacks last week, apparently to hinder her influential efforts in countering terror and showing the brutal nature of the Islamic State (IS).
