ERBIL — More than 400,000 people visited the 14th International Book Fair in Kurdistan Region’s capital in the past ten days, said an official.
The exhibition was open between 3rd and 13th April, presenting more than 1 million titles this year.
Mohammed Gardi, head of the media office at the Ministry of Culture and Youth, said the number of visitors and the sale rates noticeably increased this year.
BasNews previously reported that over 300 publishers from 21 countries took part in the 14th Erbil International Book Fair.
According to Gardi, religious books by Arabic publishers topped the best sellers.
He noted that a joint committee from the ministry of religious affairs and ministry of culture banned dozens of titles believed to be extreme.
