ERBIL — The Turkish Beşiktaş football club opened on Saturday a football school in Erbil in a ceremony attended by the Turkish consul-general in Erbil.
Beşiktaş Footabll School was opened on Saturday in a ceremony attended by Mehmet Akif, the Turkish Consul-General in Erbil and Aydin Maruf, a member of the Iraqi Turkmen Front politburo and member of the Kurdistan Region Parliament.
Beşiktaş Jimnastik Kulübü (BJK), known as simply Beşiktaş, is a Turkish sports club founded in 1903, and based in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul. Its football team is one of the most successful teams in Turkey. The home ground of the club is Vodafone Arena, consisting of a 41,903 all-seater capacity stadium in Istanbul.
The club also includes other branches of sport such as basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, boxing, wrestling, chess, bridge, gymnastics, rowing, table tennis and others.
