What Happened in Brussels was a Failed Provocation of Tension by Gorran Representative

ERBIL — A representative of the Change Movement (Gorran) in Belgium on Thursday attempted to create tension through provocative actions and insults hurled at a delegation of three governors from the Kurdistan Region.

The Kurdish delegation, consisting of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, and Duhok Governors, were on their way to the EU Parliament when a representative of Gorran approached and insulted specifically the governor of Erbil.

In an attempt to invite the aggressive individuals to calmness, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) envoy to the European Union approached the Gorran representative, who was accompanied by another member of the party. However, they again, through provocative actions, tried to engage in a physical tension with the KRG envoy.

According to the information obtained by BasNews, the KRG representative to the EU, Delavar Azhgayi, attempted to remove the offender’s cell phone and invited him to a calm discussion, but the Gorran representative refused and provoked a clash while the Kurdish officials tried to avoid it.

BasNews has also learned that the Gorran representatives had staged the gathering without any prior permission from the Brussels authorities, by which they have also breached the laws and regulations of their host country.

BasNews previously published photographs proving that the person who insulted the Kurdish delegation had, on various occasions, appeared in the meetings of Gorran officials.
