ERBIL — The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has reached an agreement with the Russians and the Syrian regime to leave the Christian-majority town of Tal Tamar, a source told BasNews.
According to the agreement, the SDF fighters will retreat to 1 kilometer south of M4 highway, in return, the Ankara-backed Islamist militias will be retreating from the outskirt of Ras al-Ain (Sare Kanie) and Tal Abyadh (Gire Sipi).
Tal Tamar, according to the agreement, will be under the joint control of the Russian forces and Syrian regime army.
The town was under heavy fire in the recent days by the pro-Turkey Islamist groups who pushed to enter Tal Tamar and oust the SDF fighters.
