ERBIL - The Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) stated that Turkey is trying to replace the civilians in the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in Syria with the families of Syrian opposition groups, warning to target anyone who enters the area.
The Turkish army have brought citizens belonging to the extremist opposition groups to Jindress and the surrounding towns in Afrin, according to sources belonging to YPG.
YPG said that they believe Turkey has brought those people from Atima, Aazaz, Syrian refugees in Turkey, and Turkmen in Iraq to genocide the Kurds, warning to target whoever comes to that area.
Turkey last January launched the operation on the region under the pretext of securing its borders.
The Turkish army and its backed Syrian rebels on Tuesday claimed that they are less than two kilometres away from the centre of Afrin, thus hundreds of civilians started fleeing the city.
