ERBIL — The Change Movement (Gorran) is planning to hold its congress by the end of the current year in hopes of addressing its weakening position, said a senior member.
“Gorran has decided to review its performance and position, from the top down ,” according to Hakim Obeid, a member of Gorran’s National Assembly.
The official told BasNews that preparations for the congress would possibly begin after the conclusion of the recent parliamentary election’s results.
The party is facing criticism after losing almost half of its seats in the parliamentary election on 30th September. Many people blame Gorran’s leadership for the malperformance, while Obeidi held all members of Gorran responsible for the weakening political position.
