ERBIL — A member of the Kurdistan Region Parliament for the Change Movement (Gorran) has revealed that his party’s decision so far is to boycott the parliament and political process in Baghdad.
MP Bestoun Fayiq told BasNews that the decision is for the flaws in the process of the Iraqi parliamentary election which has allowed certain factions on violations against Gorran’s votes.
“The number of seats we have been given is less than the range of votes we received,” the lawmaker claimed.
Initial results of Iraq’s parliamentary election which was held on May 12, had given Gorran eight seats in the upcoming parliament. However, the number of seats declined to five after the electoral commission released the final results.
