ERBIL - Another Kurdish activist who was arrested by the police for allegedly taking part in the anti-government protests, was reportedly tortured to death in a jail in Iran, according to reports.
The Iranian-Kurdish Human Rights monitoring group Hangaw revealed that the Iranian judicial authorities in Ilam city on Sunday had informed the family of Talib Basati that their son has died in prison.
Basati was a medical student at the University of Ilam in Iran. He was accused of taking part in Iran's widespread protests.
The police had claimed that they have found footages in Basati's mobile taken from the protests for the media outlets belonging to the Kurdish opositions.
According to sources, the police has threatened the family of the victim not to give details about the case of their son's death otherwise they will not be allowed to set any funeral ceremonies.
