SINJAR — Authorities found on Saturday another mass grave of civilian victims of the Islamic State (IS) in central Sinjar.
The mass grave contains six bodies, all of which are believed to be Kurdish Yezidi civilians from the city, said human rights activist Jalal Hassan.
Speaking to BasNews, he said that the mass grave was discovered near Sinjar directorate of police.
Following the fall of Mosul into the hands of IS back in 2014, the jihadists overrun the predominantly Yezidi town of Sinjar in northern Iraq, killing, kidnapping and displacing hundreds of thousands of civilians from the religious minority.
Since then, over 40 mass graves of Yezidi victims have been found across the region.
