ERBIL — The local administration in Kifri district of Sulaymaniyah Province imposed a curfew after protests turned violent on Tuesday.
The mayoral office of Kifri said in a statement that civilian movements across the city will be prohibited from 20:00 (+3 GMT) in hopes of preventing further violent actions.
Only security vehicles will be allowed to move across the city, according to the statement.
The curfew comes as violent protests continued for the second day across Sulaymaniyah Province. Many government buildings and political offices belonging to Kurdish parties came under attack by protestors.
