ERBIL — Kurdistan Region’s Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani is set to visit Germany on 18 December where he will meet with top officials before visiting the German Federal Parliament, Kurdistan’s Department of Foreign Relations (DFR) confirmed.
The Kurdish premier, accompanied by a delegation from Erbil, will be travelling to Berlin upon a formal invitation from the German Government.
“The KRG Department of Foreign Relations announced that during the course of Prime Minister’s visit to the Republic of Germany, he will meet with German Chancellor Ms. Angela Merkel, German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel, and Minister of Defense, Ms. Ursula von der Leyen. The PM is also scheduled to visit the German Parliament,” said the DFR.
“The matters of concern to be addressed during the visit are reiteration of bilateral ties, commitment of KRG to dialogue between Erbil and Baghdad, latest security, humanitarian and political developments, war on terror, and the situation of the displaced people.”
