DUHOK — Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani reiterated on Saturday that the independence referendum held on 25th September was the fulfilment of “a duty and rightful message”.
Discussing the political situation in the Kurdistan Region, Barzani suggested that the parliamentary and presidential elections to be held on time as a way out of the crisis.
He was meeting with senior cadres of his party, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), in Duhok Province of Kurdistan Region.
The Kurdish leader once again valued the role of the Peshmerga forces and people of Kurdistan Region for staying strong at the face of multiple threats and tough times the Kurds have been going through recently.
He urged the preservation of rights of all religious and ethnic components of the Kurdistan Region as well as historic peaceful coexistence between the people.
