SULAYMANIYAH — Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani visited on Sunday the headquarters of the Change Movement (Gorran) in Sulaymaniyah where he is in a meeting with the leader of the movement.
Barzani, who is also the deputy head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), is expected to discuss some internal issues with Gorran leader Omar Sayyid Ali.
Chief of staff of the Kurdistan Region Presidency Fuad Hussein and Salahadin Bahaadin, the Secretary General of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), are also attending the meeting.
The parties are likely to discuss the internal issues in hopes of reaching reconciliation and consensus over the political disputes among them.
The political tensions between the KDP and Gorran peaked in October 2015 and their disputes led to adjourning the parliament of Kurdistan which was called back into session just before the independence referendum of September 25.
