ERBIL — Kurdistan Region’s Independent High Electoral and Referendum Commission has urged all the political factions to remain committed to the rules and regulations of the campaign for the imminent independence referendum.
The electoral commission has formed a monitoring board which observes the campaigning led by different fractions, to face those committing violations with the justice.
The independence referendum, set for 25th September, is fast approaching with the majority of the political factions and public opinion campaigning in favour of “Yes” vote.
The electoral commission previously said that almost 95% of the technical preparations for the polls have been concluded.
Not only the official areas of Kurdistan Region, but also the disputed Kurdish territories are included in the independence referendum.
