DUHOK — The followers of different religions and ethnicities rallied in support of Kurdistan Region’s independence referendum in Duhok Province on Thursday.
Representatives and followers of various ethnic-religious groups, including Muslims, Christians, and Yezidis in Duhok Province held a joint event on Thursday as part of the campaign for Kurdistan’s independence vote scheduled for September 25.
The representatives of the ethnicities and religions showed their support for the referendum and reiterated their participation in the process.
Kurdistan Region has decided to organize a referendum on secession from Iraq on September 25, 2017.
The Independent High Election and Referendum Commission of Kurdistan Region (IHERC) announced earlier that the campaign for the September vote would start on September 5 and will continue up to September 22nd.
