ERBIL— The Islamic State (IS) militants can no longer launch offensives and their death toll is increasing, said a Peshmerga commander in Kirkuk.
Speaking to BasNews on Tuesday, Hussein Yazdanpanah, said recently Peshmerga forces could eliminate over 400 extremists in Harmin, Zummar, Rabi'a, and Tuz Khurmatu frontlines.
He added Peshmerga has also captured a great number of the jihadists.
"IS is besieged by Peshmerga," said Yazdanpanah, "In any case they will sustain the biggest loss as they are not familiar with the tactics of war in these areas."
As the Kurdish commander indicated the Islamic militants have lost many of their fighters in the recent battles and the spices that the organization hoped to penetrate the cities with the IDPs have been identified and captured.
The bodies of a great number of the extremists, including foreign fighters and emirs of the organization, are left in the battlefields under the control of the Peshmerga forces, Yazdanpanah added.
