ERBIL — Security forces in Sinjar foiled on Tuesday and Islamic State (IS) plot to carry out two suicide attacks, the security sources confirmed.
The jihadists, one with an explosive vest, the other at the wheel of a car bomb, were arrested outside the city in north of Iraq, Kurdistan 24 cited a source.
It was not clear what was the target of the would-be suicide bombers.
IS plans to carry out suicide attacks across Iraq have increased in the past few days as the group is losing its last few square miles of territory in neighboring Syria.
Overnight on Monday, Shi’ite militias in Khanaqin took down another IS suicide bomber before he managed to reach his target.
Security forces in Mosul said last week they killed two suicide bombers and arrested three others, including a woman.
