ERBIL — A jihadist member of the Islamic State (IS) wearing an explosive vest was killed by Iraqi Shi’ite militias overnight on Monday in Khanaqin.

According to the information obtained by BasNews, the suicide bomber was about to detonate his explosive vest at a Hashd al-Shaabi headquarter in the city.

He was killed before managing to reach his target, according to the Facebook page associated with Hashd al-Shaabi headquarter in Khanaqin.

Earlier on Sunday, the Iraqi forces announced the killing of two IS suicide bombers near Mosul. They said three others, including a woman, were arrested with explosives.
