ERBIL - Iraqi protests were resumed on Friday evening in central Baghdad province against the poor public services.
The demonstrators we're gathering at Tahrir square where they demanded the provision of fresh drinking water, electricity, and job vacancies, according to Iraqi reports.
According to the information BasNews has learned from local sources, the security forces were sent to the area, trying to disperse the protesters.
Earlier the day, the forces had also blocked a main road to prevent the people from getting to Tahrir Sq.
Since the middle of the last month, thousands of Iraqis have been taking to the streets in the southern provinces and central Baghdad; hundreds of people, including security personnel, have been killed or wounded so far, according to Iraqi media outlets.
