ERBIL - Iranian general Qassem Soleimani is currently in Baghdad to meet with the Shi'ite leaders right after announcing a great proportion of the parliamentary election results, a source told Kurdistan 24 on Tuesday.
"(Qassem) Soleimani just arrived in Baghdad," the source, who wished to remain anonymous, told Kurdistan 24. "His visit coincided with the announcement of the election results."
Kurdistan 24 has learned from a source close to Nouri Al-Maliki, head of State of Law Coalition that there is a possibility for the four winners of the election to form a coalition which will be led by Maliki, according to the source.
Muqtada al-Sadr, head of Sayirun, who is the winner of the election had previously said that he would not form a coalition ith Maliki "in any case".
Iraqi parliamentary election was held on May 12. Sadr's Sayirun has won the majority of the parliamentary seats.
