ERBIL — Eighty bodies of Islamic State (IS) fighters found under a destroyed building in Nineveh.
According to Al Hadath news , 80 bodies of IS militants were found under a destroyed house near Tigris river in Nineveh who are believed to have been killed during the operations conducted by the Iraqi forces liberating the province.
"A letter was found in the pocket of one of the dead fighters written in Russian language "Forgive me, mother, to have hurt you"," revealed the agency.
The extremist group of Islamic State in 2014 took over the Nineveh province within a few hours and ruled the city for 3 years. However, the Iraqi forces conducted an operation last year to liberate the province from the IS jihadists.
