BAGHDAD — At least one civilian was killed and three others severely wounded after an explosive devise went off in Baghdad’s western neighbourhood of Zedan on Saturday, local media reported.
Elsewhere in I’lam district, southwest of the Iraqi capital, a group of assailants attacked a residential building and stabbed a couple before escaping the scene.
Violence and acts of terrorism has been challenging Baghdad’s security for years. The people of the capital blame the central government, security and police forces for failing to protect civilians against regular attacks, bombings and assassinations.
The Iraqi media also reported the murder of a driver in east of Baghdad on Saturday. The victim is said to had been stopped on the road and shot dead.
